Water Exploration - Day 1 (Tuesday, March 31st, 2015)
1) Open up a Google Document OR a Microsoft Word Document and write your name, today's date, and your block (2nd, 3rd, or 4th) in the top left-hand corner of the document.
2) USING GOOGLE CHROME, visit http://www.ncwater.org/reports_and_publications/primer/The_Water_Connection_Booklet_9x12_300dpi.pdf and split up the reading into the following sections:
Section 1: Pages 1-3
Section 2: Page 4
Section 3: Page 5-7
Section 4: Page 8-11 (two students may split this section up)
Section 5: Page 12
Silently read your assigned section and summarize the reading. Pay attention to key points, facts, diagrams, and the most important information. Then, share your summary with those at your table when everyone is finished reading. After sharing all of the summaries, create a Fact Sheet on your Word or Google Doc that includes 25 facts from the reading. This is an individual assignment, but you may collaborate with those at your table.
3) Go to http://www.gracelinks.org/1408/water-footprint-calculator and take the Water Footprint Calculator Quiz. Answer every question as best as you can (guess if you aren't sure). Then, analyze at your results. In your Google or Word Document, write a paragraph of your results that includes the following:
1) What were your results?
2) Did anything surprise you about the results?
3) What is water conservation?
4) Why is water conservation important?
5) What are 3 REAL ways that you can conserve water, either at home, or at school?
This should be at least one half-page, single spaced (or a full page, double spaced).
4) Go to http://exittix.com --> Click on Class Code --> 2nd Block: type in kid326403 --> 3rd block type in wzn144759 --> 4th block type in puh121322 --> then, enter your information (remember your username and password!) --> take the Water Quiz.

Weathering, Erosion, and Mass Movement Exploration (Tuesday, March 17th, 2015)
1) Open up a Google document (docs.google.com) OR a Microsoft Word Document and write your name, today's date, and your block (2nd, 3rd, or 4th) in the top left-hand corner of the document.
2) Visit http://ees.as.uky.edu/sites/default/files/elearning/module07swf.swf and read through the text and view the animations.
3) Visit http://www.glencoe.com/sites/common_assets/science/virtual_labs/E06/E06.html --> Go through the animation. Then, answer journal questions 1-6 in your document. Title this first section "Weathering Lab Questions."
4) Go to http://exittix.com --> Click on Class Code --> 2nd Block: type in kid326403 --> 3rd block type in wzn144759 --> 4th block type in puh121322 --> then, enter your information (remember your username and password!) --> take the Weathering Quiz.
5) Visit http://www.glencoe.com/sites/common_assets/science/virtual_labs/ES08/ES08.html --> Follow the directions on the left-hand side to complete the lab and answer the journal questions 1-8 in your document. Title this section "Erosion Lab Questions."
6) Read Chapter 5.3 in your textbook (pages 143-147). Pick up a worksheet from Mr. Marosy. Fill out the worksheet and then answer questions 1-6 on page 147 in your document. Title this section Chapter 5.3 Questions.
7) Save your Google Doc and share it with Mr. Marosy ([email protected]).

- After calculating your ecological footprint, write or type a half-page response to this activity. Questions to consider: a) How many earths would it take to support your lifestyle, if everyone followed your lifestyle?; b) What are some changes that you could make in order to reduce your ecological footprint?; c) What surprised you most about this activity?; d) What did you learn from this activity or what would you like to learn more about in the future?
- Open the document entitled "Full Circle Farms Article" (located on the top right of this page). Read the article on sustainable farming and complete the accompanying worksheet (found HERE).

- Write or type a 1 page response to the article that includes the following (75 points):

–Your personal reaction/response to the information presented in the article
